Bookish News: Michael Crichton has passed away
I just found out this sad news. One of my favourite thriller authors, Michael Crichton has just died. Below's the message posted on his official site. Also read an article at NYTimes about the man who brought us "ER" and "Jurassic Park"
In Memoriam
Michael Crichton
1942 - 2008
Best-selling author Michael Crichton died unexpectedly in Los Angeles Tuesday, November 4, 2008 after a courageous and private battle against cancer.
While the world knew him as a great story teller that challenged our preconceived notions about the world around us -- and entertained us all while doing so -- his wife Sherri, daughter Taylor, family and friends knew Michael Crichton as a devoted husband, loving father and generous friend who inspired each of us to strive to see the wonders of our world through new eyes. He did this with a wry sense of humor that those who were privileged to know him personally will never forget.
Through his books, Michael Crichton served as an inspiration to students of all ages, challenged scientists in many fields, and illuminated the mysteries of the world in a way we could all understand.
He will be profoundly missed by those whose lives he touched, but he leaves behind the greatest gifts of a thirst for knowledge, the desire to understand, and the wisdom to use our minds to better our world.

Time for a site revamp!
Finally I'm done with this semester exams. Phew!
Although I still have some papers to submit, life is a lot easier now without classes to attend and exams to study for. The lull is just for 2 months until the next semester starts and the whole stressful process start all over again.
I just finished my last paper, and am now thinking of doing over this blog. It looks dead! or in a coma. I haven't been able to write much reviews, but I have read lots of books (other than my text books) in the past couple of months. So, am getting to it soon. Its such a waste for me to read and fall in love with books without sharing them for your enjoyment too.
So, lookout for a change in the layout as well as more book reviews and recommendations to come.

Guest Reviewing @ mybookplace.wordpress.com
Dear All,
due to my current bz schedule as a full time post-graduate student, I have not been able to update my blog as frequent as I wanted. A thousand apologies.
However, beginning this month, in support of MyBookPlace's (my favourite rent-a-book shop at Amcorp Mall) foray into the Internet, I'll be posting as a guest reviewer there. My first post will be on To Kill a Mockingbird, followed up by my current favourite saga at the moment, the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. I'll post the links to the reviews here. Hope you will enjoy the books as I have enjoyed them too.
Check out Bernice's MyBookPlace reviews and book recommendations here.
Update: Checkout my review of To Kill a Mockingbird at MyBookPlace
